Strategy 1.2.2 – Educate staffs of elected officials about long-term care policy and options for reforming it

The National Health Policy Forum (NHPF) at George Washington University will develop a series of meetings and associated written products to educate, inform, and initiate an active dialogue among the policy community of the current and potential future landscape of home- and community-based long-term care services for older adults with functional impairments.

Topics will include a fundamentals briefing on long-term services and supports (LTSS), improving services for dual eligible individuals (persons eligible for Medicare and Medicaid), and Medicaid home and community-based services waiver policies and services. These activities will offer policymakers information and understanding of the broad outlines, issues, and interrelationships embedded in LTSS.
