Francesca "Cesca" Ruiz De Luzuriaga

In 2012, Francesca “Cesca” Luzuriaga joined the Board of SCAN Health Plan, a nonprofit Medicare Advantage Health Plan that serves seniors in California. She previously served as Chair of the Board and the Audit Committee, and currently is the Chair of its Corporate Governance Committee. Ms. Luzuriaga is also a Director on the Office Depot Board where she serves on the governance Committee and Chairs the compensation Committee. She first joined this Board in 1998, when the company was Boise Cascade; the name change occurred after the purchase of OfficeMax (now Office Depot) in 2003. Since 2015, she has also served on the Board and Audit Committee of SuperValu, a national grocery distributor. Ms. Luzuriaga previously served on the Board of the apparel company Mossimo and as a Board member and Audit Committee Chair for Providian Financial.

A retired independent business development consultant, Ms. Luzuriaga had a distinguished, 18-year career at Mattel, where she held numerous financial and administrative positions, including Controller, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, as well as Chief Operating Officer for the company’s interactive division. Prior to Mattel, she worked as a Financial Analyst in the manufacturing division of Xerox. Ms. Luzuriaga holds an MBA from University of Southern California and a BA from Pomona College.
