Patrick T. Seaver spent his legal career advising corporations and their boards in transformative transactions. His clients included medical device and other high-tech companies, as well as investment banks and institutional investors. Mr. Seaver retired as a Partner of Latham & Watkins at the end of 2007. He was the Chairman of his firm’s Orange County Corporate Department from 1991 until his retirement.
Mr. Seaver has served on public, private, and nonprofit boards of directors. He has served on the boards of the SCAN Health Plan since 2000 and The SCAN Foundation since inception. He has served as a Director of Tuboscope, Inc. (NYSE) and as Vice Chairman of Hydril Company (Nasdaq NMS). He was the Chairman of the Board of Opera Pacific for eight years, and a founder and trustee of the Westerly School of Long Beach, the only independent K-8 school in Long Beach, Calif.
In 2016, Mr. Seaver accepted an invitation to be an Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow at Harvard University, where he worked on a project to create an innovation lab focused on improving the lives of seniors. He is also working on a director’s toolkit to improve the effectiveness of corporate directors.
Mr. Seaver graduated from Yale College in 1972 with a B.A. in philosophy, cum laude. He also received a J.D. from Stanford Law School and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1977.
