Burke serves as Director of California Health and Aging Policy at The SCAN Foundation. In this role, she leads the Foundation\u2019s California public policy strategy and grantmaking to advance state solutions that improve the lives of older adults, people with complex care needs, and their family caregivers. Her policy expertise spans Medicaid, Medicare, integration of health care and community-based services, long-term services and supports access, and other aging-related policy. Megan provides strategic guidance on state initiatives, oversees collaborative projects with the state, and manages a special fund to support California\u2019s Master Plan for Aging implementation.\r\n\r\nPreviously, Megan served as the Senior Analyst for The SCAN Foundation, prior to which she was a Policy Analyst for Paraquad (a Center for Independent Living in Missouri), and for the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council. Megan began her career in direct service roles coordinating care for older adults and people with disabilities in nursing facility and community-based settings\u2014gaining firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by older adults, people with disabilities, and their families. This grounding in person-centered care continues to inform her approach to policy development and systems change.\r\n\r\nMegan holds a master\u2019s degree in Social Work with a focus in Gerontology and Social and Economic Development from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.
