The SCAN Foundation (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and disclose information about individuals who engage with us through our website, events, grant programs, partnerships, or other activities aligned with our mission to advance equitable aging through  About TSF – The SCAN Foundation and our related platforms. By using the Online Platforms and other engagement channels, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including measures such as encryption and firewalls where appropriate.

This privacy policy applies to: 

  • The SCAN Foundation.  
  • The SCAN Foundation’s online properties, including our websites, our social media pages or handles, our programs and activities. 

This Policy governs how we handle personal information when you interact with us through these properties and initiatives.  It does not apply to third-party websites, mobile applications, or services that may be linked from our platforms.  Please review the privacy policies on those websites and applications directly to understand their privacy practices. 

We may change this Policy from time to time. If we do, we will notify you by posting the updated version on our website with the effective date.  

Information Collected on this Site  

Information collected on the site comes in two forms: 

  • Anonymous information: The SCAN Foundation (the “Foundation”) collects limited non-personally identifying information made available by your browser whenever you visit a website. Such non-personally identifying information includes your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, your browser type, the time of your visit, the length of your visit, and the pages accessed during your visit. This non-personally identifying information is used to help us operate and improve the site.

    • Information technology vendors, such as entities that assist with website design, hosting and maintenance, data and software storage, and network operation.

We use a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect through the Services. While we use these precautions to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee the security of the networks, systems, servers, devices, and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf. 

Your Options and Rights Regarding Your Information 

Permission for The SCAN Foundation Communications with You: You give The SCAN Foundation permission to transmit email, texts, push notifications or postal mail to you or to telephone you. Unsubscribe instructions are included in each promotional email or text. 

  • If you receive an email from The SCAN Foundation and want to unsubscribe, please let us know by following the applicable instructions that are included in the email you received. Please note that unsubscribe requests for promotional e-mails may take up to ten (10) business days to become effective. 
  • If you provide a phone number to The SCAN Foundation, you agree that you are the authorized user of that number and that you may receive text messages and telephone calls from The SCAN Foundation and its associates, including but not limited to artificial or pre-recorded messages, or via an automatic telephone dialing system, even if your phone number is on a Do Not Call Registry. Calls to The SCAN Foundation may be recorded and monitored. You are not required to receive text messages or calls from The SCAN Foundation as a condition (directly or indirectly) to use The SCAN Foundation website. Text messages sent by The SCAN Foundation may be recurring and on-going unless you select to opt out; message and data rates may apply (check with your carrier). You may not decline to receive or unsubscribe from communications regarding your transactions, dealings with The SCAN Foundation or the Websites, or technical information about the Websites.

Making a request to exercise your rights 

Submitting requests: You may request to exercise your rights by making a request using the contact information above. 

We may have a reason under the law why we do not have to comply with your request, or why we may comply with it in a more limited way than you anticipated. If we do, we will explain that to you in our response. 

Verification: We must verify your identity before responding to your request. We verify your identity by asking you to provide personal identifiers that we can match against information we may have collected from you previously. We may need to follow up with you to request more information to verify identity.  

We will not use the personal information we collect in connection with verifying or responding to your request for any purpose other than responding to your request.
