Building Resilience and Capacity
Older adults face extraordinary challenges in their lives today, and have more immediate desires and aspirations for themselves and their families than the health system is prepared to address. This entirely new Foundation goal takes a person-first orientation – as opposed to a system- or policy-first slant – to improve the ecosystem that shapes the experiences of older adults.
We recognize that the products and services being designed for people and families are rarely meaningful, helpful, or effective—and mostly fail. We will reimagine how we address existential worries and deeply held wishes by designing not for, but with older adults. We seek to meet the needs of entire communities, particularly those that are marginalized when it comes to innovation.
