Allis Gilbert is the Senior Director of Operations for The SCAN Foundation. Allis combines her education and experience in organizational change and leadership with a passion for heath equity to support the Foundation’s mission and drive initiatives that preserve dignity and independence for all.

Throughout her career she has led organizations that focus on health care delivery and bridging gaps for communities’ vulnerable populations. She has guided organizations through various depths of change, including new funding and grant programs, and the building of new health facilities. As a U.S. Army veteran, Allis is committed to supporting veterans, including starting a grant program to raise funds and offer alternative care options to veterans in Northern Colorado.

Allis has spent her career in the health care operations sector beginning her career as a Health Services Officer for the U.S. Army. She also has spent time in higher education health care, as well as a community health foundation; both opportunities provided Allis experiences that inform her focus on raising systemic health equity issues and working to tackle these challenges.

Allis earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California, with a focus in Organizational Change and Leadership. Her dissertation focused on gender barriers to women’s advancement in health care leadership. She received her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University, Athens, and her bachelor’s degree in History from Southern Illinois University.

In her free time, Allis can be found on the water sailing a small Butterfly, in the hammock with a good book, or around a campfire. She loves to get outdoors with her daughter and husband and usually has her dogs with her.
